With the kick off of the Mentee Class of 2025, mentees will embark on an intensive and inspiring journey. The Initiative Women into Leadership (IWiL) cross-mentoring program provides ambitious female talents with a unique opportunity to develop their leadership skills, learn from experienced executives, and build a strong network.

The upcoming events will set the stage for personal and professional growth. Beyond structured mentoring and strategic discussions, the program offers practical insights into leadership and career development.

The First Steps: Networking and Initial Insights

The first major event is the Networking Event on March 20, 2025, in Düsseldorf. This is where new mentees will connect, establish valuable contacts, and begin shaping their mentoring journey. The event kicks off with an official welcome by the IWiL Board, followed by interactive sessions designed to foster exchange and collaboration.

A highlight of the evening is the keynote speech by Dr. Jennifer Bryant, former IWiL Mentee and currently Partner at Noerr Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mbB.

The Kick Off: Laying the Foundation for a Transformational Year

The very next day, on March 21, 2025, the official Kick Off Event takes place at Schneider Electric in Düsseldorf. This event marks the beginning of the structured mentoring process and provides mentees with their first deep dive into the program.

Following an opening address by the IWiL Board and representatives from Schneider Electric, mentees will take part in an Elevator Pitch Session, where each mentee introduces herself concisely and confidently. This is not just an opportunity to make an impression on peers but also a valuable exercise for future leadership roles where self-presentation and clarity are key.

Another crucial aspect of the event is the first mentor-mentee meet-up sessions. In two dedicated rounds, mentees will engage with mentors, setting the stage for a productive and impactful mentorship and finding their right tandem partner.

Why These Events Are Crucial for Mentees

Joining a mentoring program is more than just an orientation—it’s the foundation for the entire year ahead. These initial events are where strong professional relationships are built, expectations are set, and mentees gain clarity on how to make the most of the program.

One of the greatest assets of the IWiL mentoring program is the mentee community itself. Leadership is not a solo journey, and having a supportive, like-minded group to exchange experiences with makes a significant difference. These early connections will not only provide professional benefits but also offer long-term support throughout the mentees' careers.

Ongoing Support and Regular Check-Ins

To ensure continuous development, IWiL hosts regular Mentee Calls throughout the year. These virtual sessions offer a platform for mentees to ask questions, reflect on their progress, and gain further insights.

Final Thoughts: A Year Full of Opportunities and Challenges

The Mentee Class of 2025 offers a unique chance to deeply engage in leadership development and career growth. Those who take full advantage of the first events, build strong networks, and remain open to new perspectives will see both professional and personal benefits.

The journey has begun—it’s now up to the mentees to seize this opportunity and unlock their full potential.
